Went back tonight. Service was great. Drinks good. Guacamole was very good. Chips not good. Stale. Salsa pretty good. Food just so so. Have good drinks, fresh chips and good salsa and you can get away with so so food. But improve the quality of food too and you have a winner!

Found this place because I asked some local Spanish people where to go! The food was very good, fresh, and filling. The quality of the food was great. The seasoning was done well! The portions were great too! The service was great. I had a very polite, personable waiter whom was very attentive and thorough. The best service I've had eating out in a long time! The hosts and other staff were friendly too! All around great experience!

Came here for dinner to try out a new place. Let me start by saying we are from Arizona so are use to Mexican food. The service was pretty good. We had the chimmis. The flavor was pretty good but not spicy. Fried ice cream was pretty good as well. I would recommend this place to anyone. Just don't expect spicy if you are use to it. Of and the warned use that the salsa for the chips was spicy but it wasn't either.

1 star only got the very sweet waitress. The food is beyond yuck. The fajita salad seemed fresh but the chicken is pulled off the bone, not a grilled boneless chicken breast. I sent it back and asked to have it removed from the bill. After a minute of picking back and forth, they finally agreed. My hubby had a combo, the re-fried beans were tasteless and dry on too. The rice was crunchy from being overlooked. Save your money and time. This place is gross.

Such nice people here. The service was fast...we were here on a Tuesday at 5:45 and it wasn't busy at all. So we were happy. Food was delicious!!

Very very friendly service. They even were patient as I tried to pronounce the names of some of the dishes! Tortilla chips and salsa. Ooh, the salsa! Spicy hot and delicious. The Pieblo Viejo Margarita, is not only huge, but de-yummy with just the right amount of tequila (yes, I like them a bit strong). I ordered the Camarones el al Mexicana. Wonderful presentation (see picture). The retried beans were simply scrumptious, as was the sauce over the shrimp (garlic, butter and more). Now for the negatives: the shrimp was overcooked and tough (but yes, flavorful). The stem and footer on the glass I was served the Margarita in was in need of cleaning. That makes me wonder how clean the entire thing was. Thankfully, the Margarita was de-yummy, and hopefully alcohol really does kill germs. 3 stars. I will try them again and see.

I came here while in town for a business trip. I am always in the mood for Mexican food so it was an easy choice over the many chain restaurants in the area. I always initially judge a Mexican restaurant by the quality of the salsa. This place passed the test. The salsa is a bit spicy with great flavor. A great start to the meal. I got the chipotle chicken enchiladas. It came out quickly and was very tasty. You can tell the tortillas and chipotle sauce were both homemade. It was served with refried beans and rice. Both very good for soaking up leftover chipotle sauce. My entire meal for plus drink was about $12 which is hard to beat! Overall I was very satisfied. Will be back next time I'm in town.

This restaurant is located at the end of a small strip mall right off of the road. Very colorful and festive inside which makes this place very welcoming. Usual chips and salsa upon being seating but this salsa has some kick! Fantastico! Israel was our waiter- young, enthusiastic and friendly. A true plus when ordering at a new place. My fiancé had the chimichanga with shredded beef and I had the shrimp enchilaladas. Both were superb. House special was two for one price $7.95 - homemade sangria. It was more than just fruit juice. Very well made. Prices are more than reasonable. Will definitely be back and will ask to sit Israel's section. Muy bien mis amigos!

Buyer beware. Food average, service was slow and owner attempted to charge more than posted menu price. When I questioned the charge, I was told prices had changed and were posted up front. When I showed him menu I ordered from and said I hadn't seen his board up front, he was rude. He did finally agree to change price to posted menu price but trust me, food not worth the time or argument.

We were a little wary of trying this place again after not having been in a couple of years; since it has changed names so many times in the last few years, you start to wonder what is wrong with it. But one recent evening we first went to Duffy's and there was a 45 minute wait (who would wait 45 minutes - or really ANY amount of time - for Duffy's?!) so we drove the 100 yards over to Pueblo Viejo instead. We have probably been there 5 times in the month since that night. The food is consistently really really good, the portions are large, the sangria is yummy and the service is REALLY wonderful. (We usually get Israel as our server). We've had a variety of dishes from fajitas to enchiladas to various combo platters... everything has been good but the skirt steak in anything is especially delicious, "like buttah". The one thing we didn't like was the taco salad which we ordered in a moment of health-consciousness, but the server took that away and off the bill without a moment's hesitation. I'm not going to lie, the recent addition of the full bar is appealing, and they have a nice 2-for-1 happy hour. I'm actually very glad that Duffy's was too crowded that night or we might not have tried Pueblo Viejo again and I am so glad we did.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
